He injured his hand in a way that would never allow him to play music anymore, so he killed himself. It's quite tragic because the rest of his stuff is really cool too.

These guys replaced Solitude Aeturnus as my favorite doom band. Rob Lowe did guest vocals for their last album (which wasn't very good).

The riff beginning at 6:30 in The Streamkeeper is just about the heaviest and bleakest thing since Black Sabbath.

It might just be the MySpace player, or it might be the fact that it's only a demo, filtered through MySpace, because when you play it in a real stereo you can hear Austin roaring like a fucking beast. I say download the demo, burn it, turn it up loud (like you should be anyway ) and then see what you think.

As much as I loved it several years ago, I have to say I'm pretty sick of all the MDB/Anathema/Paradise Lost clone "death/doom" bands nowadays.
This is real death/doom (because its actual doom metal mixed with actual death metal):
