if you want to work at it, you can setup multiple instances of ReaSamploMatic in REAPER as a ghetto drum machine.

For multisamples I use drumreaplacer, it's only for Reaper, but it works great, you just have to "prepare" your wav files from your multisamples but it's super easy to use and accurate. Doesn't have as many fancy options as drumagog or slate trigger but for free it's good, and it's the only free option I've found that does multisamples.

This. I had tried DrumTrig and Replacer with OK results. Aptrigga was undoubtedly one of the best purchases I've made when it comes to plugs. What it does for the price is great.

Can also vouch for Aptrigga. It's basically the only plug I use nowadays for sound replacement. So simple and reliable. I just upgraded to Cubase 6 and the new hitpoint detection seems to be pretty damn good though, but it's not that accurate on blastbeats on the project I'm working with now. Otherwise that's one of the things I miss in Aptrigga: I'd like to be able to extract midi from it like in Drumagog.

Aptrigga is good, some reason it never triggers properly with fast kicks and snares, any tips d00ds?

IIRC, Drumagog had a 14-day trial with full features... I've never used it personally but recently purchased Slater Trigger and almost leaned towards Drumagog because of the advertised demo version.
