Hey Guys, hope it's ok I started a thread for this.

I've got a question for any of you design snobs that post on here.

My girlfriends birthday is coming up and She's a design student (I am too, just not really into books the way she is haha) and I want to get her some good design books. I was just wondering if any of you guys could point me in the direction of some good books that maybe you have used for inspiration, or just know about that are easily available to buy online. I must admit i'm sort of out of the loop when it comes to books, but she loves them. Any good typographic design books especially.

Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Anything by Stefan sagmeister. He does some brilliant zines too.
Daniel Eatock's 'imprint' is also fantastic and also if you can find anything by illustrator, paul davis.
Books by david carson, nick bell etc

lol and if she likes the technical aspect of graphic design and youre feeling daring, anything by Edward Tufte, but its pretty hardcore geeky stuff. beautiful motion is a good one by him though

these guys are all leaders in typography and contemporary graphic design. On the other hand you may be searching for something more travis smith like, and i basically have no idea about that aspect of design
