Hey guys,
does anyone here know of any books that MJR talks about in his bio. He says he likes to read books on composition. I have a couple, but I was just curious which ones he has read. Or does anyone have any recommendations. Any reply or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if you want to study counterpoint, probably *the* book to get is "The Study of Counterpoint" by Fux. It is centuries old, I believe they say even composers like Beethoven studied from it. Its written in a dialogue form, between a teacher and a student, so its very easy to understand.

I didnt feel like making a new topic, but do you guys know of any good acoustic style guitar instructional books or dvds?

Im looking to learn how to do stuff similar to the acoustic solo yngwie does on triligy suite opus 5. That middle eastern kind of feel.

Im having success using harmonic minor kinda stuff, but i think i need some instruction.

thx alot.

I'm also looking for some books or someting to shift to a more Neo-Classical edge of playing. Shredd gets really boring really fast. I think Neo-Classicalness would work wonders for my soloing and writing.
