I know flat frequency response is good for mixing and all but since I switched to NS-10's, my mixing got way better and the plain ol' music listening experience is, well... awful :)
What good Hi-Fi setup would you guys recommend for a nice evening spinning a good CD and savoring a cold beer?

NS10's are famous for their odd sound. Why not just get a decent pair of "normal" monitors instead of a hifi setup? My monitors sound great to listen to music on and mix through equally, but they don't have that pronounced midrange area like NS10's ;)

I like listening to a lot of the big speakers from the 70's and 80's, something with at least 12-inch woofers to get the air moving and you can get many of them cheap on craigslist or garage sales because many people don't like have big speakers taking up room in their house anymore.
