Prog just does not parse it seems. Some good suggestions by Sulk (dare I say that) and soundave.

Weird nobody mentions Anathema since Eternity until now.
Try Pure Reason Revolution 's Dark Third, IMO one of the best albums of 2006.
Lunatic Soul is also a good band, side-project of Riverside.
And last but not least When Day Descends, discovered this band here on this forum in the "Post your band info/music recordings here" topic. You can donwload one of their albums (Ascension) for free on their website (and some demo songs).http://www.whendaydescends.com/
