Good music/metal review sites.

What are some review sites that you guys can trust?

The reviews on MA, while interesting to read are mostly skewed and tend towards opposing extremes.

Im find Metal-Crypt a pretty good indicator of good stuff, but their range of reviews isnt very far reaching.

i just google an album with the word "review" attached and it usually comes up with the same 5-8 sites. I read them all, and go from there.

thats assuming youve already got a band/album name.
I want to find fresh music I have never heard of before.

i read the reviews on MA when i feel like a laugh, 90% of them are "OMG DIS IS TEH BEST ALBUMS EVER SOUNDS LIKE OPETH LOLZ" followed by "NO UR STUPID THIS IS TEH WORSE EVER" "NO U"

thats the problem with 'user submitted' reviews. most of the time people only care enough to write a review if they think its really good or really crappy/overrated. "its pretty good" doesnt inspire these angsty teenagers who think their taste reigns supreme.


on the other hand a reviewer at a metal site is just some asshole who thinks he knows better too, so i still read MA haha.

Dead Void Dreams is an excellent site for Metal reviews. They deal a wide range of bands and sub-genres, and have some well-written reviews that are objective and not too opinionated. I highly suggest you check it out.
