Good strings

What are some good strings for electrical guitar? Why does gauge matter? I briefly know the answer to these questions but Im just curious what you guys know.

i love the GHS 10-60's... its a shame they have zakk wylde's name on them, but that doesn't stop me from loving them, they are incredible

guage only matters for how thick they feel, and it is necessary if you are in drop tuning to get a higher guage.

guage also will effect playing, as high guage strings move less because of tension

i've got a set of d'addario's on my Rhoads V right now. worst strings i've ever owned, not to mention 10-46 is way too light. they go out of tune way easy, my Rhoads has never had tuning stability issues with any other strings.

I dont know why, but I hate Earnie Ball strings. I dont think they sound good on any instrument I throw them on (Bass or Guitar).

The best Bass strings I ever had where Elixir Teflon coated, they were really smoth on the fingers. Guitar strings....I have my guitar and I've changed strings once since I got it in December...it sounds of fart

Im always in Half Step or Drop D tuning. The strings on my Jackson DXMG are stock since I got the guitar 2 months ago, but the A and B string broke at once the other day. I'll try the DR highbeams. That's 10 gauge right?
