Good wah's

I totally want a 95Q, that's been my planned wah-to-purchase for quite some time now (though it's admittedly pretty low in priority compared to the many other things I need/want to throw money at). Soon, though...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i am interested in getting a wah. Looking at the dime and wylde ones. Whats your opinions?

Haha, how did you even find this thread? The search function doesn't like three letter words..

So far my preference in wah's has been the 95Q and 535Q for their flexible parameters. It really depends on how flexible you want to get and if you want the on/ off switch or auto function.

Tried both and the Bad Horsie 2 in a shop in January. They all sounded great. I wasn't trying on my guitar/rig though since i was in a guitar shop. It seemed to me that the Wylde was good but the high end sounded a bit too harsh/extreme to my ears, but again i didn't try it on my setup at home. The Dime one was good also, same as the Wylde but voiced a bit differently and with more settings (the Wylde is more a straight-forward wah). I loved the Bad Horsie 2, for the convenience of it (no switch) and i loved the smoothness of the sound.

I ended up buying the Bad Horsie 2, and it sounds killer with my Shecter Hellraiser C1-FR (81-85) + ENGL SE + ENGL V30 cab.

I really recommend you to try pedals with your rig if you can (borrow your friend's wah) and compare them, or at least try to play in a similar setup in a shop.

Also, I had an old Morley Power Wah Boost pass through here and it was one of the best wah's I've ever used. Kicked complete ass with the fuzzy boost y'all!

I pretty much gave up on wah, when i use it i always feel it to be too cliche somehow. The crybabys are really good tho. I have an original crybaby somewhere, but dont use it too much as i find the pod's wah to be pretty good. Better than the boss gt wah to my ears.

i don't use mine a lot either, but i like to use it to add a little flavor to my leads

since the 95Q turns on as soon as you press the pedal down, i like to push it all the way to the floor with the boost switch on...then i'll rock back on it just liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit to get some tonal variety going on
