Gotta love the people of Ukraine's heart !

Private schools are fine, but drain the public schools.
And, well, lets just look at privatized prisons for a great example of privatization. And what do you do if two neighboring municipalities have two different "security firms" and they do nothing but argue about how to interpret the laws? Who do they then go to?

it not involuntary to serve in the military, or on a jury or pay taxes...they are simply responsibilities of being an American.

I've served, i've pay my taxes and i have been to jury duty, and i vote. :)

im not crazy about the big two political parties in power but hey.
Thank you. If you don't like taxes, I'd stay off the highway, because that is how they got there. I also wouldn't eat anything from a store or restaurant, because it's cleanliness was inspected by and approved by gov't agencies, making money off of tax dollars. But, in the perfect libertarian world, everything would fall in to place without a single tax dollar.

How does a private school drain public schools? If the student goes to a private school, then the public school is not responsible for him.

Arguing forever and ever is for governments and married couples. It's too costly for private companies with limited resources. If they have a dispute, they would take it to a court.

Private schools drain the public schools by taking the cream of the crop teachers and paying them more for one thing.

Actually in many states (re: Ohio) teachers at private schools make much less, but they are willing to take that pay cut to not have to deal with the state. Private schools also drain public schools by taking the approx: 6,000 $$$$$ per pupil in taxes from the school.

Any good relationship has give and take. It takes twice as long to get on a flight, but the likelyhood of travelling in a taliban missle has decreased. The major freeway between Vegas and LA has had more patrol durring the holidays where there are usually a few fatalities every major weekend has gone down. The more cops, the more people slow down which gives us less accidents and less fatalities. I'll take a speeding ticket to save a life here and there. It's all give and take.

However, it is possible for the government to be self sufficient and it makes me sick that they don't do it. I'm lucky that Nevada doesn't have state taxes. After the government gets done w/your paycheck it's discouraging.

You're failing to tell the whole story.

1. Parents of students in private schools or home schools still pay property taxes that are used to fund schools (not that they should have to).
2. How much does it cost for a government school to educate one student? Since the kid is not in that school anymore, that is a savings to the school.

It's not intellectually honest to complain about one side of the equation and ignore the other side.

I have a right to use that for which I paid, even if it wasn't voluntary on my part.

My friend, due to the recent "ohio schools are unconstitutionally funded" cases, public schools are now funded based on student population. Yes, it comes from property taxes, but for every student you lose, you lose that amount of tax money to whatever district.

And you lose one student you don't have to educate.
