*or however you spell that mofo

 this is as bad a spelling as I've heard so far. Notable past versions include: gwinblind, gwynblaedde

Hey all,

I stumbled upon this thread and figured I'd share some info real quick:

The Fate of Angels was recorded back in 98. We released it on our own in 99, and was reissued by Nightfall Records in 99 as well. Since then we've released two more albums, Tomorrow's in Doubt, which was more in the melodic death style, and our latest, Two Way Mirror, which I guess could be classified as progressive rock/metal. One reviewer has called it progressive doom metal. I dunno though.

Anyway, we've been around for 10 years. We've seen our ups and downs...way more downs than ups.

Currently, we're writing the fourth album, which will feature a much heavier sound than we've done in the past. To me, the new material is a combination of all three of our previous albums mashed together with a bit more emphesis on the heaviness. Lots of growling will be found on the new one. The first song from those writing sessions has been recorded and posted on our Myspace page.

It's called The Visionary. Check it out by going to www.myspace.com/greyskiesfallen

Anyway, thanks for reading.

the new song sounds really good, although I hope you don't eliminate the clean vocals entirely because I think they're a winning point

the first two songs from The Fate of Angels are really excellent. In case anyone hasn't heard these yet, check out these 2 tracks:

The Purest Form - it's got that galloping old Opeth style riff, very 'pagan-esque', and mixed growls with clean vox

The Great Fall - really excellent clean vocals, I think a lot of people at RC should like this song (and the previous), particularly those folks into the vocal style of Simen Hestnaes

Spiral Dreams is excellent too, reminding me of While Heaven Wept

I guess it's time to take them up on the offer and freely download the other two albums

Someone sign these kids! :kickass:

I've had this CD for several years now -- bought it on sale, listened to it once and then put it away. Listened again last night (since they'll be at HC2).....

wow, I had almost the exact same experience several years ago. I don't even know why I bought it, since I didn't even really like anything doomy then. But a couple years later, it just blew me away. It's probably the first doom-ish thing I've ever loved.

"Drawn to the Earth" is the money song for me, but they're all good.

These two tracks rock. Love the audible bass, and the clean vocals are great. Excuse me while i download the rest of this album.

Yeah, it's very good stuff. It's always a little surprising to hear music like this or Gwynbleidd coming out of the NYC underground.

I'm in the process of downloading the next two albums.

spikes77, are you coming to this show?

What about Necuratul? you're a local.

Yeah, the April 24th show in NYC is going to fucking rule.

I've got to find out how long our set is...hopefully 40 min., but most likely 30. We're gonna dust off one or two tracks from Fate, one from Tomorrow's in Doubt, and some brand new shit.

Check out the Myspace page for live vids from our last gig, including some brand new material.

We're psyched for this gig.

If you don't mind, can you let us know which songs you're going to pick?

Definitely interesting in hearing more.

Doom, you can download their first 3 albums from their website (in case you have sigs turned off like me).

We're just starting to come up with a setlist. Two songs we'll most likely play from the first two CD's are Silent Cry and The Great Fall. Depending on time, we may close with The Purest Form.

:kickass:

If possible, pleeease try to squeeze in The Purest Form into the setlist, I'm sure it works wonders live on stage.

That said, I'm also interested to see how you work the new stuff, that one song on myspace sounding excellent!

By the way, to the Gwynbleidd and GSF folks: if it's of any consequence, I'm *much* more excited about seeing you guys live than I am Thurisaz and Saturnus.
