That's what it got like. AFter a few months, it was like Racer X, Symphony X, Yngwie, Petrucci, Michael Angelo...Nirvana!!
So everyone just gave up.
This is what someone actually suggested:
"Rusty Cooley - Under the Influence (sweeping part from 1:48 to 2:29)
Necrophagist - Extreme Unction (beginning to 0:29)
Children of Bodom - Silent Night, Bodom Night (sweeping part 1:04 to 1:35)
Carcass - Corporeal Jigsore Quandary (beginning to 0:33)
Racer X - Scarified (beginning to 0:33)"
:zombie:
In fact, here's the thread:

I think it would be more fun if no specific riff was specified. Just the song titles given. Then people could choose any riff of a song.

I demand some Avril Lavigne from Warheart!

The whole point was NOT to guess the name of the riff, it was just to play a riff from a list and pass it on to the next player. As I say, it was fun because you got to learn stuff that you usually wouldn't because you have to play a riff that someone else has put into the list.
Like, the threadstarter would go:
COB - SNBN intro
LOG - Laid To Rest main riff
Metallica - Seek and Destroy intro
GNR - Sweet Child Of Mine
Megadeth - Hanger 18 intro
Then someone would choose one to record, say Metallica, then they'd record it, upload it, delete it from the list, and replace it with another, so:
COB - SNBN intro
LOG - Laid To Rest main riff
Arch Enemy - We Will Rise
GNR - Sweet Child Of Mine
Megadeth - Hanger 18 intro
Then you just go again, someone choosing a riff and repeating the process.
Does it have to be in the right tuning?
