My friend always buys guitar hero and rockband. The game seems fun for groups of people, but by yourself it just seems stale. I wish they would put bands like cynic, opeth, and atheist on there because it would probably be more of a challenge.

much shit there as well, imo GH3 was better as a whole, I mean bands like MCR, tokio hotel, rammstein :erk:

There's nothing wrong in playing this game. If you think "omgzor u fagass play reaaal guitar instedz of teh game" than you might as well stop playing football games, driving games, first person shooters and pick up a ball, a car and go in the army.

Thats not my point. I just never played the game and don't see why people are obsessing over it when you can find tabs and play any of these songs on a real guitar.

Well, I played that myself, and I've been playing guitar for 9 years. It's just a game: I don't see playing the guitar as a game, I play the guitar to better myself at it and to try and write something. Well, I realise this is just my point of view, but you could also say: "I just never played the game and don't see why people are obsessing over it when you can find balls and play any of these moves on a real field." about a football game. It takes time and effort to learn those songs: some people are just not willing to take it. On the other hand, I know people who got inspired to play the guitar by this game.

EDIT: I reckon I'm being a bit annoying, well, my intention is not to throw shit on you

I don't play guitar, but I think of Guitar Hero as more as a fun rhythm game with a different controller more than anything. The only thing that annoys me about it is the poser fans of bands it creates. Someone told me they were a huge Metallica fan, but when I asked if they had Ride the Lightening he said no and asked if it was their new album. I checked his ipod and this "huge Metallica fan" only had the songs One and Enter Sandman because they were on Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

That's always bothered me too. I remember when guitar hero 3 came out and the next day at school everyone was suddenly huge fans of Dragonforce. Oh yeah so whats your favourite song by them? "Through the fire and flames!!" Wow saw that coming. :)

And +1 to carta's.

that takes effort and practice. most of the people who play this game are quite lazy. :)

the setlist couldve consisted of opeth, enslaved, negura bunget, etc. and i would still pass. pretty boring games if u ask me.
