any of you guys use a pod (i know max uses a line6 pod) or guitarrig? just got guitarrig 2 and im shitting my pants at the sound, its completely fucking amazing. i suggest even if you have the best of amps try this shit out!

Guitarrig 1 I'll agree, the modeling is a bit shabby and the tone sucks. Not to mention that the string comes through way too much, it's obviously synthetic. However Guitarrig 2 incorporates some sort of new tube-emulating technology that so far I think sounds amazing. The Orange amp models are dead on, well as dead on as software can be. Therein lies the problem though, when it comes right down to it, its software. However im a poor bastard so I can settle, besides, for guitar ambient and blackmetal I think this prog is perfect.

But really, if I had a choice I would throw all this shit far away and buy me a proper tube amp and crank it. I can often hear rather easily if something is made with modelling, it's NOT as accurate as some people think.

Are tube amps expensive over yonder? I could find an infinite number of amazing tube amps for $500 or less in the US.

I just can't imagine playing an electric without a tube amp. I've just used them long enough that anything else wouldn't be worth playing.

I see your point. I've played/owned so many different tube amps, I could probably point you in the direction of a 1X12 class A 15 watt amp that would be pretty damn sweet sounding. But it would still be as loud as any 50 watt solid state amp.

Eh, guitarrig2 isnt recording properly.... I suppose my opinion is still pending. Kind of pissed off about it right now.
