i decided (for no particular reason at all) to test my three possible configurations for me when recording guitar

what do you guys think is the best tone
i know theyre all pretty crappy, but thats all i have at the moment
ill reveal what they are after i got some opinons

I like test 1 personally, test 2 is a bit too scooped for my liking and 3 isnt really as in your face as test 1

LOL, the first combo we had in college and god damn it was fucking shite, effects and settings all over the joint seemed like a really cheap starter amp with effects type thing :\ Yet its better than the other 2? lol

thats the amp i do all my (band) recordings with, usually clayman style
this was just a test i did, single mic this time,
heres a (band) recording of the amp, fredman technique
quad tracked, no vox on this track

Oh lol! I do apologise! Must be slightly different because this one looked similar but really was like a line 6 after a car crash!

Recordings sound pretty good like

lol its no problem,
it took a while to get a good tone out of that amp, it has absolutely no high end though, its very middy
the settings i typically use on it are:
gain 4
low 2
mid 3
high 10
and its on the setting between modern and vintage distortion

that crate amp is a pile of crap though
our guitarist got it for his chrimbo present after we talked about getting a peavey valve king combo, and its just solid state nonsense
not good at all for recording,
