Guitar tone

Would there be point in uploading just a guitar track to get some feedback on the kind of tone that I'm getting or would this be pointless as it's not heard within a mix? I'm currently trying to dial in some good tones out of my guitar using Nick Crow's 8505 amp sim and the Catharis (sp) fredman style impulses, TS and nothing else (no EQ or any kind of effects).

Plus, that absolutely doesn't mean it has to be the tone that makes the cut in the end.
