Hey dudes!

Going to be buying a wireless setup soon (most likely Line 6 G90) and I was just wondering how some of you guys set up your rig.

I run a NS-2 and a TS in front of my amp.

I'd basically have to plug the receiver into my pedal input, correct? Is this easily damaged if stepped on? I imagine it'd have to just sort of sit there on the floor/stage. Just trying to clear some things up before spending $600 on this thing.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Make a shelf for your pedals in the wireless-rack? Like for example a 4u rack. 1u G90, 2u for the shelf with the pedals and 1u for a locker for strings, picks, spares etc. If you don't buy the cheapest shit, you'll be able to put the rack in between your amp and cab?

E: Or you could toss off the 1u locker and replace it with a 1u rackmount tuner. I know I'd like one. + The lights are pretty and the red led-stripe has this cool KIT-esqué-vibe going on.

Buuuut I like to have my NS-2 and TS on the floor because I switch them on and off....TS for leads, NS-2 off for cleans and sometimes leads and feedback).

I already own a 4u SKB rack with Furman, Tuner, and other shit I never use anymore but really want to get a bigger rack to fit my rack units and Mark IV head.

Shit, just bought the G90 for $430, basically brand new!

Another quick question, as I'm totally new to guitar wireless - are these best to sit in the top rack space, or does it not really matter?

Apologies for the few posts in a row.

I set this (G90) up and got it working yesterday. I plugged her into my interface to do a tone test.

Recorded a bit of wireless and a bit of wired in to interface.

Conclusion: The G90 adds brightness to the signal. It's very apparent in the DI tracks.

I played with the "CABLE TONE" settings and with it set to 10-15ft cable "simulation", it sounds a bit closer to actually being plugged in, but still a bit different.

I cannot find the happy medium/in-between settings to sound like I would if I were wired in. I guess I need to just live with it for now and adjust my amp a bit.

Any tips/tricks/pointers on these things?

ALSO - where do find replacement guitar-to-transmitter cable, as the one that comes with it is kind of cheap.

I'll definitely consider that in the future, thanks! But with that pricetag, at this point I'll deal with having to stomp on 3 pedals.

let me guess, you use passive pickups? with the wireless-system you don't have as much capacitive load as a say 6m long cable would have. so it don't dampens your passive pickup frequency response.

its not the G90 thats add brightness, its the long cable that removes it!
(plug your guitar into your interface with a 50cm cable and you will get nearly the same tone/brightness as with the G90)

i have a G50(with receiver on my floorboard), and i like the brighter tone much more than the muffled sound from my 6m cable!

Actives.

Makes sense, actually, I was pondering that last night.

Yeah, when I got my sony dwz unit, the thing I liked the most was the added bite that the nearly transparent signal path provided.

These digital wireless units are the bomb, miles above the horrible experiences I had with RF wireless years ago
