So last night I finally saw my all time favorite band, Gn'R, live. Was it good? Fuck Yeah!!! Was it worth the ten years I have waited? No, but still fucking awesome.
After only ten hours of waiting in line I even made it to the front row! I must admit that (if you try to forget that there are three guitarists who are not Slash,
and one of them looks like an emo-guy and one wears a skirt) this new version of the band sounds fucking amazing! Axl sang better than he's ever sang, seriously. He was also in a very good mood, never got pissed off even though there was some gear problems occasionally. Also, his rant about the arrest in Sweden was pretty funny. The best thing about the show were when during Sweet Child's second chorus Axl was right in front of me, and as I was was singing along, he looked me right in the eyes for a few seconds. Finally I just burst out laughing 'cause it was so unreal! I also got the drummers (the guy who's filling in for Brain who just had a baby) towel, which was nice. An amazing day yesterday, I'm just so fucking happy right now!

Someone posted a link to a few of the new songs, gotta say, it wasn't half bad i liked it alot.

Just because the name is the same, much like anthrax im not expecting the same sound, you just want it to be worth listening to.

Why can't he just drop the Guns N' Roses name and go with Axl Rose? I know he owns the right to the name, but that doesn't mean he has to use it for a solo project. No Slash means no G N' R!

I went last night to the second show and it was so great!!! The made some changes to the setlist which made it even better. The instrumentals were great once again. Robin Finck played the song "Finlandia" which is very cool because I know it's something unique. Dizzy played Don't You Ever Leave Me by Hanoi Rocks, and even though I'm not a fan of Hanoi Rocks, in fact I kinda hate them, it was great. The audience sang the song of course. Richard Fortus and Robin Finck played an instrumental version of Christina Aquilera's Beautiful during Fortus' guitar solo.

Now the only bad thing about this new band (besides the obvious one) is that the when Axl leaves the stage, they become a house band. It doesn't even matter what they're playing if Axl's not there. The average music fan don't really appreciate how good they're playing during the solo spots, even though they were playing really good. Especially that Bumblefoot guy is an awesome player.

My all time fav band is Faith no More.
It would be wrong in my opinion if Tomahawk was called Faith no More instead. It's not the same band.

You're right. Bumblefoot (aka Ron Thal) is an amazing guitarist. One of the best I've ever heard. I've been listening to his stuff since way back in 1995 when I heard his debut. You should check out some of his solo stuff. No two of his discs sound the same, yet they're instantlyl recognizable as Bumblefoot. I have my doubts that he's even remotely stretching his abilities by playing GnR stuff.

I personally don't like GnR (Axl's a dick), but I would gladly go to one of their shows to see that guy play guitar.

Yeah, when I saw them in NYC back in May I was glowing for a fucking month, I had 9th row for PEARL JAM a week later and it wasn't even that cool because I had just seen GnR..

Thanks, I'll try to find some of his solo stuff. I think this guy suits GN'R much better than Buckethead.

I hear ya.. I personally love Gn'R but think Axl's new crap sucks ass.. No Slash, Izzy and Duff = No Gn'R... He is just ruining the bands legacy more than he already has.
