I had the unstoppable urge to listen to all the maudlin of the Well albums, and I have to say... Christ! Greg Massi is a god amongst men!

How kickass is the guitar solos in Birth Pains Of Astral Projection, Bizarre Flowers/A Violent Mist, Blight Of River Systems and numerous other tracks! Greg Massi kicks me in the balls with his amazing guitar work!

I only got Bath/LYBM a couple of weeks ago and was impressed by the solos ( I'm not a big fan of guitar solos), but they work well within the music, rather than just sounding like some guy noodling over the top of the track.

Bath/LYBM are two (or is it one) excellent albums. I'm not going to say I like this and or that, but Geography and Sleep is a Curse are two of my favorite songs. I don't know what Greg did on those two songs and I guess I don't really care. I just like those albums a lot. Excellent music by all.

I just listen to Blight of River Systems, and there is 2 Greg solos here, which is magical. It almost feels real, as if I feel his presence, like he is sitting in my room on the shaking chair, and masturbating his guitar inspiredly (in a good way!).

And a special mention goes to Mia, the magnificent fiddler from Maudlins of the Well, and currently the lead singer of the Female Fronted Gothic Metal band Kayo Dot. Mia touches her violin APPROPRIATELY.

honestly, heaven and weak is probably THE standout solo for me on those two albums. i am proud of everything i have done but that solo and blight of river systems were the two times when a solo idea kind of came to fruition in such a way that i was floored listening back.
