Hall of Fame

I turned the tv on in the workout room and they were doing a big jazz thing, then next thing i know it's Lars (who needs someone to slap that fucking gum outta his mouth) and Jamz (who looks like a total cromag now). The Sabbath stuff was cool, I wasn't to over joyed with Metallica's stuff. They didn't sound awful to me but why did they do "Hole in the Sky" ? . I can name about 50 other obscure sabbath cuts I'd rather hear someone play. Didn't Pantera remake that one (along with 20 other Sabbath songs).

something about Metallica and having to do songs that no one listened to from a particular band. I went to a Misfits show when Mike Graves joined up. Hardly anyone was there (about 200 people in a place made for 1000), and there was a pit, a small one. When they played Last Caress, whoever was there went ape shit for that song. Then it went back to mediocre.

I will see when they replay the ceremony, I would still like to watch it.

I know metal rules but it was kind of weird that Metallica COVERED two whole songs from Sabbath (uninteruppted) while they periodically interuppted the actual Lynyrd Synyrd segments with short testimonies!!?? Of course, nobody would have wanted to hear anything from "The Osbournes".

This made me laugh, especially the James part. It reminded me of this show on VH1 where they had this cartoon parody of Metallica. They had the little bitch Lars running his mouth about napster. Then every other sentence James would say "Napster bad" in the best Frankenstein impersonation I have seen since Phil Hartman. That was just too fucking funny.

I have that recorded as filler at the end of some movie.

I saw some of it... Although I cannot stand the guys in Metallica anymore, I thought their induction speeches were pretty good.. They did pretty good doing the Sabbath songs too. I mean they weren't great but they were ok.. I thought it was cool that they did an obsecure song like "Hole In The Sky"...

As for Skynyrd I thought the Freebird performance was insane....

I don't know which Black Sabbath you guys are listening to, but Hole in the Sky was never an obscure song.

And the "yeah yeah" at the end of Iron Man made want to shit myself and throw up at the same time. Fuck Metallica.

The best part was Geezer's props to Cliff and Dime.

I did enjoy the Miles Davis tribute - the upright bass player was awesome.

maybe not obscure but, it was never played live or released as a single.
i did notice that it's on the new black sabbath "greatest hits" that was released to coincide with the hall of fame induction. that could be the reason it was played along with iron man (which is also on the new disc). the jazz thing was pretty cool.
