Sooooooooo
I was thrown around by cops and injured enough to go to the hospital......because I wouldn't sign a ticket saying that I was breaking a noise ordinance at a residence that I am not even on the lease at. :OMG:
Someone tell me how this is legal????

It's Chicago, dear, where one only matters if you're a Close Personal Friend of Daley.

My advice - other than to know a good lawyer - would be to contact John Kass at the Tribune and Mark Brown at the Sun-Times. Both these columnists are known for looking out for the little guy (well...), and embarassing the hell out of Il Duce - oops, I mean, Mayor Daley.

I think Kass's e-mail is: jskass@tribune.com; I don't know what Brown's is. Both should be somewhere at the bottom of their columns. (Kass runs Wed.-Sun.)

nice... shit you had to spend your b-day in cook county? fun fun fun!! I have learned that when cops show up either keep my mouth shut or run out the back door because I know I can't keep my mouth shut! I ended up in jail for a owi in sept. and was thrown in solitary confinment because some chick was throwin apple juice at a girlfriend of my who brought in at the same time I was. I was the one who felt like I need to explain the situation and would not shut up. I was the one who got in trouble.. sucks but the cops notice and lash out on the ones talkin especially when you are anibriated. Like someone else said it's gonna cost ya but get a good lawyer.

where you drunk? if you were intoxicated forget about it. that never helps even if you are in the right.

Even if that were the case, couldn't she still get them on excessive use of force? It was just a noise ordinance, after all...

I obviously don't know what happened, or all the facts, and I know what they say about every story, but it's not unusual for Chicago's men in blue to over-react just a bit. Kinda like Officer Friendly coming into a classroom with a Taser...

Assult on a Peace officer ... Lock her up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There gonna luv you in Prison!!!!!I Luv Women in Prison!!!

Just Kidding Pink keep us posted.....

Pink, did you bite one of the cops? Did he taste like bacon? :Spin:

I must say I´m impressed with the change in attitude among police officers in Sweden. A couple of years ago many were just bullies in uniforms but now they are very good handling people, they talk to them and handle troublemakers in clever ways. When I worked at the Hultsfred festival I barely saw them dragging anyone away to the police-van. And they don´t get hurt as much themselves.
