Harley Benton/Thomann cheap string sets ?

My brother bought a few sets of the 10's for some of our less used guitars at home. Figured we'd give em a shot, better to have new cheap strings than manky rusted old ones.
They seem grand, they fell alright. They do break easier( he broke 2 in a week, different strings aswell, not the same one) and the tone is a bit more dead. I wouldn't buy em all the time but for keeping lesser used axes in fresh strings they do the job nicely.

There's also the not quite as dirt cheap ones that are still less than £3 a pack, and come with an extra E and B string.

Think I might have to stock up for emergencies.

Humanmade in the USA!

They are not that bad imo, a friend of mine plays them because he's broke
as fuck all the time and you can't beat it for this price.
The worst strings I have ever seen were from a german shop called conrad,
they sell all kinds of electronical stuff and so on, my guitar pupil bought his
strings there, he paid 4 euros for one set and they were soooooo unbelievable
crappy that I just cut em off.

I bought some sets a few weeks ago and they're IMO not much better or worse than most bigger brands. They probably even run from the same lines as more popular brands. Wish there were more sizes available...

I honestly think that there's often a lot of "mojo bullshit" involved when it comes to (seemingly) big differences between strings of same sizes and materials (plus treatment) but different brands.

Ok, for acoustic guitar strings, it seems that HB strings (1 €) doesn't really stay in tune...I thought it was my guitar, but bought some Martin cheap (3 €) strings set and it was a real improvement...
