has this amp got a rectifierish sound?

I wouldn't bet on it, it looks like its from the 80s which was Mark-series era, an amp that has a fiercely devouted following that so far I'm not a subscriber to :Smug: Could be cool though, if it's at a good price I'd go for it!

wow that was fast. actually I don't have the money for some "could be cool stuff", if it doesn't sound like rectifier, I won't ask my girlfriend for some money lol. thanks a lot though!!!!

Haha, no problem man - I've got like 15 minutes before I leave for band practice, so I'm just killing time by sitting here alternating between refreshing this page and checking my email every few minutes

that's pretty much the preamp section of a mark III, great sounding preamp no doubt...it sounds like a boogie, but not like a recto

The other guitarist in my old bands had one - it sounded good, but it broke all the time.

First time we were in the studio and it just started screaming the moment you switched to the lead channel. It went off to be fixed, worked perfectly for about a month and then did the same thing again.

Then, after being fixed again, I was going to use it for a gig (last resort :p) - tried it out the night before, and the footswitch suddenly stopped working. Then during the sound check both channels started buzzing like crazy and it was completely useless. I ended up having to use an AVT :waah: and the pre is now sitting in a garage collecting dust.
