Anyone seen 'The Perilous Fight' DVD? Eriks talking about the amps he's using on the album and says after the doing 2 tracks with an ENGL and 2 with a Marshall (or maybe just 4 tracks of ENGL) that he was thinking of doing another 2 tracks with a JCM 800 or something....

I can't remember exactly what he says but 6 tracks of rhythm guitars seems a lot? or maybe he meant he'd reamp 2 of the tracks and just blend them in with the existing sounds


If anyone knows that'd be handy, I really like the tone

I know for a fact on I, Monarch it was an Engl Powerball with a jcm800 boosted.

It is those amps but it sounds like it was 6 layers of rhythms or sumthin

ENGL Powerball and a JCM800 with a Rocaforte Bastard pedal infront of it, IIRC.

If you knock the gain down enough you could probably just layer and layer and layer, as long as the playing is tight enough.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Dimebag used to do like 12 tracks of rhythms and double all his solos?
