Ive been playing Brave New World last couple of weeks, and I love it man! Its like playing opera music but on an electric guitar; the songs are long and the chords are of many voices but crunchy with lots of gain, and the rhythm is great, sometimes like playing counter point, The solos are quickly phrased in thirds and pentatonics and its hard to remember all of them all the time for 3 guitars, but when the song gets going, I got no problem winging it. I love that rhythm part that begins The Nomad; its quite fast and seems tricky, but when you relax and see the circle from chords to E, its a lot of fun! Now I just have to get to Blood brothers, this album easily takes up an hour. 
Okay Im sorry, I thought you knew what voice overs were, well they are chords with open strings; move the C chord up the neck and you have a voice over, you can move all patterns. Finger tip the standard bar chords instead of the usuall bar and you can play 3 strings out of it or 5 and leave strings 1,2 to to ring: i.e. The Mecernary. I love to use it all the time. In other songs you can shift that pattern up or down the rows and use it like moveable power chords, say starting on string 4 rather than 5 or 6 rather than 5. You can also use the cheating bar chord, I like to use where its like moving the A chord all around but you just palm the neck, and loosely hold your barring finger in the three finger assist fashion, so that all the fingers are together so that you can shift to and fro that bar, voice overs, chords, string bend and vibreto squeeze. Okay If you dont know about 3 finger assist or vibreto squeeze or the door knob technique, then you better tell you teacher that he should show you those things, because that is the most important fundamental you will ever need to know. You will have lots of power in your fretting hand while remaining fast and relaxed with a light grip. Dont mean to talk theory so much, but it seems that palming the neck is not emphasize enough. Sometimes you can use your thumb behind the neck, but its not good practice in my opinion, just do whats comfortable, but try to palm as much as possible; its a dicpline.
