I'm looking for a good set of headphones to reference my mixes with.
I'm not looking for headphones to mix with, I just want a pair that sound great for casual use that would be great.
Currently, I pretty much buy new ones every 2 or 3 months just to listen to different speakers (plus I guess I have a big head... so they break for no reason?).

what's everyone using for headphones for your casual music enjoyment/referencing?

and hell, what headphones do you guys use for mixing in addition to your monitors?

For mixing/reference, I have a pair of Shure SRH-440's which are real nice. Pretty flat response with a tiny boost in the high end. Also have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-20's, which were only like £30. Look pretty crappy, but great headphones for the price. Still have a set of Sennheiser HD205's too. Stay away from these. They laaaaav the bass. Oh, and if you buy Dr.Dre Beats, I will come to the US and smash them! =P

For general use/Ipod, I use some bass heavy Skullcandy in-ears. Wank.

ipod earbuds are the most widely used headphones on the planet.

i own 6 pairs of akg 240 (studio use), 1 pair of beyerdynamic dt770 (community headphones) and a pair of ultrasone ed8 (personal use) but if i'm ever referencing a mix in headphones, i'm doing it with ipod earbuds because that (and laptop speakers) is how the average listener plays back music.
