The release date of the of the album „Don't Let Time Stand Still“ by the Canadian Heavy Metal Band TOUCHDOWN on CD is October 27th, 2017. The pre-order phase will start on October 13th, 2017 in our webshop. The album will be released in a limited Edition of 500 copies (handnumbered), with 4 Bonustracks, certificate and hologram.

The Canadian band TOUCHDOWN made two fantastic Metal albums in the 80s but never reached the audience it deserved. From the different sessions after the two albums some songs were left over which were planned for an EP. Proudly we present them for the first time on CD in the Karthago Classics series with some radio bonus songs. Great material showing the extraordinary quality of the band.

The album has also 4 Bonustracks from Radioshows and an Interview. And it will be released as limited Edition of 500 copies with gray tray and certificate with hologram.

Listen to "Heart on the line" or "Don't let time stand still" and you will know what I mean!

The bavarian band STRANGER became famous in the underground with their fantastic album "The Bell". In 1985 this was one of the best melodic/speed Metal albums released worldwide. Sadly, the attention was more on the US and english Metal market, so "The bell" never got the deserved attention. The songs were catchy, but always heavy and the vocals fit perfectly to the music. After "The bell" STRANGER went into more melodic territory, but never reached again the quality with their follow up efforts. Today the original album is a highly in demand collector’s item, so it was time for the vinyl rerelease to keep the memory alive!

The release date of the of the album „Mephisto“ by the German Power/Speed Metal Band MEPHISTO on CD is January 26th, 2018. The pre-order phase will start on January 12th, 2018 in our webshop. In the year 1988 the classic mideighties Heavy Metal in the style of GRAVESTONE, NOISEHUNTER, STORMWITCH and many others was already threatened from the harder wave of Speed and Thrash Metal. So MEPHISTO took a bit of the faster early HELLOWEEN, a bit more of BLIND GUARDIAN and mixed it with their own ideas and the typical German trademarks.

The musical ability was high and in comparison, both albums are more or less equal strong, but the first album was released only in micro quantity, so it is the more rare of both and finally with this edition a gap will be filled in many collections!

FIRST OFFENCE was a typical NWoBHM-band fitting perfectly in the time between 1980 and 1983, but the first album came on the market in the year 1988 and the NWoBHM was already a part of music history. Fantastic songs like the opener "Rip it up" or the catchy "Mad, mad world" - to name only two - convince totally today!

Luckily FIRST OFFENCE wrote some more songs and recorded them without being able to release them so far. Finally, with this reedition you can listen to the complete fantastic material which this totally underrated band made around three decades ago. It is definitely worth discovering FIRST OFFENCE today. The band is nothing less than a lost legend of Heavy Metal!

Another legend from 80s Heavy Metal will be releases on Vinyl!

ARROW from Jönköping (Sweden) in the 80s were more into the melodic Metal genre which fitted best to them. The mini album "Diary of a soldier" was released in 1986 and we could expand it with 7inches and unreleased tracks!

Maybe you know the band which was formed out of the ashes from ARROW. This band was called SHIVA and made three really recommended albums! But the musical beginnings of this interesting band were ARROW. So it’s truly worth to be released in Karthago’s Heavy Metal Classics Series, because the 80s spirit is celebrated in a very good way!

After the CD release in October 2014 follows the album "Diary Of A Soldier” in a limited edition of 250 black copies with insert on vinyl.

DAWN HAWK "Dawn Hawk" - LIMITED DOUBLE VINYL EDITION - Cover, Tracklist, releasedate: 11th May 2018

The release date of the DAWN HAWK album „Dawn Hawk“ on limited vinyl edition is May 11th, 2018. The pre-order phase will start on April 27th, 2018 in our webshop. The Album will release in a limited Edition of 250 black copies with 6 Bonustracks and insert.

DAWN HAWK from Essen/Germany are known to all collectors of rarities because of their extremely hard to get same-titled album from 1990. The brilliant cover artwork, which shows a bird of prey, is an additional appeal to find this album.

1990 was not a good time for LPs and for traditional Heavy Metal. This does not change the quality of the material but Grunge had become a favourite with the masses and pure Heavy Metal was not interesting any more. Songs like “Running Wild” or “Nighthawk” are especially outstanding on DAWN HAWK’s debut album. “Into the Night” and “Freedom” are two good ballads, which can be found in final, better versions on the following album “Judas”.

Frank Noak’s strangely nasal voice gave the band an original touch, which can be heard in “Love is Truth”, another very strong ballad. The bonus tracks on this Karthago Classics are some very successful songs like “Win or Lose” or “Raised by Wolves”.

After the CD release in October 2015 follows the album "Dawn Hawk” in a limited edition of 250 black copies with 6 Bonustracks and insert on Double-Vinyl.
