From Melodicrock.com This guys is a hardcore Van Halen fan & has some reliable sources. Check this one out:
EDDIE'S LIMP AUDITION - VAN BIZKIT TRY OUT DID HAPPEN:
In a feature article on the upcoming Limp Bizkit CD, MTV.com interviewed frontman Fred Durst about the band's need for a guitarist. The article reads: As Durst so eloquently puts it, "What the f--- am I doing? I'm not a guitar player." But after auditioning as many as 11 guitarists, including none other than Eddie Van Halen, the frontman finds himself, along with engineer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, strumming the songs for the new record. With live shows around the corner, that has to change."
Eddie Van Halen??? Well, my best placed source says yes, Eddie did audition - what was he thinking? But - a possible glimmer of light in the tunnel - apparently we will all know what's going on with Van Halen by the end of the year. I'll believe it when I see it, but here's hoping. It just continues to get stranger doesn't it? Stay tuned...
