Hellboy II

Yep, I saw Hellboy vs. Elric last weekend, and thought it was excellent.

As you said, great action sequences and mayyybe a slightly weaker plot than the first. Overall we were happy with it.

My friends and I saw it last weekend as well... And enjoyed it. Guillermo del Toro certainly has a creative imagination when it comes to spooky creatures. I especially enjoyed his version of the Star Wars cantina scene: "I'm not a baby, I'm a tumor!"

This movie has convinced me.

The day it comes out on Blue-Ray, I will go out and buy it. Then, I will buy the 52" HDTV and PS3 so I can watch it. Over and over and over again.

Not since Lord of the Rings, man..... WOW.

I do that already!! Blu Ray on a HDTV Big Screen rules!!! I was going to wait to see this movie but now I am going to go see it at the theater!!! Thanks

Not yet, it hasn't arrived here. I have X-Files in front anyway :D

Yes, so far everyone said they liked it better than the first. Know why? First movie proved they deserve a bigger better budget and more freedom to get CRAZY with their ideas.

By the way, you'll hear people brag about how this movie was made by the same director as Pan's Labyrinth, Guillermo Del Toro. Hint: The FIRST Hellboy was made by Guillermo as well! WOW! I dunno, just a marketing ploy I guess. I dunno.

I want a replica of The Samaritan. Real bad. :D

Actually Del Toro having some success and lots of praise for Pan's Labyrinth got him a bigger budget for 2. But the bad release date resulted it it not even making as much as the first movie. There's a small chance that him directing the Hobbit will result in him again being able to do H3 with a high budget but by the time that happens Perlman will be over 70 years old. Plus, Hellboy just isn't as popular as other comics out there.

Jibrille, it has made more money than the first movie by ~15 million in US sales. It will probably take in another $5mil before it leaves the theaters. In terms of total profit, I haven't seen good foreign sales numbers so not sure. The first one had ~30mil profit.

Maybe I was recalling someone talking about it in relation to total budget but I could have sworn people were saying it was tracking slower than the first.
