Hellfest!

I'm more worried about bands overlapping, I'm really gonna be running from stage to stage for the whole 3 days to catch all bands I wanna see!

I think the overlapping shouldnt be too bad. Its too outdoor stages and one tent. So I cant see the two outdoor stages clashing. The tent stage is being used for the likes of Watain and Shining.

@weepngwrds: Rennes airport is about an hour away from Nantes if that helps you. I`m flying from Dublin to Rennes. Dunno if you can fly direct from the US, but a connecting flight from Dublin may be worthwhile.

Thanks man...my girlfriend and I are trying to decide if we have the money to do this, right after dropping some $$$ on Melloboat

I was wondering when this thread would get started, hopefully we can keep it afloat for a couple months to save it from tweendom.

I don't just want to go, it would be professionally retarded if I don't. So expect me! I am also trying to talk ufomagnet into it.

Getting there: i started the google map for whatever good it will do. I am thinking of Flying in to Paris and then renting a car(about 150EUR for the flight and 300EUR for a car for 4 days). Depending on flight prices vs. petrol prices, is it really cheaper to drive? It sounds like having that security and control might be a good thing, if the parking is close and secure. I'll have to play around with reservations, it might be cheaper to connect to Nantes and rent a car there (less possibility of getting lost!)

Until more information is posted, does anyone know specifics such as the camping plot size and if there is a restriction on bringing in beer etc? We have one of those really nice military tents but I am wondering if it is too big. I am also curious about the local price of water/food etc. How hot does it get in France in June? How cold at night?

There will undoubtedly be band overlap, but I am hoping it wont be similar bands...if its like other festivals I have been to usually the smaller less known bands are the ones overlapping so its not a huge deal. In the videos I have seen, the stages are very close together...is it like Waken where you get really bad noise pollution from the other bands?

Edit: Ryanair is definately a good place to book a car rental, even if you can't get the flight through them. Much cheaper than going direct through Hertz.

OK, we WILL meet on Hellfest then ER! ;) You know how Camille and I look like now, so no excuses hehe ;) The Kata-meeting cult grows bigger and bigger ;) We should do a huge Kata-pose (see Camille's sig) pic there with all of us in it, haha!

It's a 875 km drive from where I live, a whole day's worth of driving, so that's why we (a.o. Camille, Juniper, Cis and whoever wants to join..) came up with the idea to make a little trip/holiday around Hellfest. For me for instane it would be cool to make a stop in Paris (I've actually never been there..) as that would also split the drive nicely in 2. This is all still plans though, nothing is definitively planned or fixed yet. Suggestions are welcome!

Me and my friends will probably stay a few days in France before or after the festival.
I've been to Paris before, seen the Eiffel tower, the Louvre etc. and I don't really need to go back there. I'm not much of a city- tourist, rather a hippie ;) I'm hoping to find a nice spot somewhere in the nature where we could have a summernight outdoor forumparty, a beachparty like in Katwijk :)
What do you think?
Or it's probably possible to combine both, Paris and the outdoor party...
Concerning the weather in France: I've been to the Furyfest (which is very close to Hellfest) in June '05 and it was extremely hot, all day and even all night. But since it's been snowing on Easter this year, you can't really trust anyone or anything...

hmmm what are you driving M?

Why if I may ask?

Bored curiosity. I was not expecting to see a Ford though :) Personally, I have an invisible plane.
It's my first car actually, bought it in July '06 even though I already got my driver's license in '98. Invisible planes are cool, I've always loved them. There's nothing like a good invisible plane on a ehh .. warm .. sunny ..autumn .. Monday. Morning.

Yeah...

Anywayzzz....

No way back for me now :)
