Hellfire Club is actually my favorite album of the year so far. Edguy to me is a great heavy metal band who like to have fun. The album has some killer stuff like "Mysteria", "King Of Fools", and "Navigator". Sure the ballads are a bit cheesy but what else do you expect from a good ol power metal band. Also the Sayer you say its too heavy to be prog. Edguy isn't meant to be prog and has always been a straight foward power metal band. I think they are one of the best fresh bands to emerge in the 90's and be playing strong today. I feel Edguy along with the likes of Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Hammerfall etc. will be the bands that are the future of heavy metal and the next generation of Iron Maiden's, Saxon's, Judas Priest's and Dio's.

That happens to me some times also, may be in the wrong mood/state of mind the first time you hear something. Plus I'm getting a little burnt out on the newer stuff, it's all starting to sound the same to me, so I've been diving even deeper into the 80's metal. Two months from now I'll be itching to hear some new bands..... it goes in cycles for me.

Happened to me right now, I love hellfire club, and I'm the threadstarter!

I got this album few weeks ago. They were brilliant live on stage.
Anyways this album or this Edguy band. It's way too avarage for my liking.

Not bad not good. Too plain.

Even I don't consider myself as an Edguy fan anymore, I have fond memories of hearing "Vain Glory Opera" for the first time when it came out, I was heavily into Helloween at the time but very few bands could match their past works to me.
This album stayed in my player for months!

On a side note, the press didn't even bother reviewing it, or said it was forgetable outdated melodic metal........... 2 years later, they were all kissing Edguy's ass, and still do ;)
