On our way home from Brissy after 3 very cool weeks in Oz. It rocked!!

Special thanks to Spiff for his music selections, and use of his PC to fix UM and clear out the spam from my email. :worship:

Extra special thanks to my Mum for everything else and then some! :worship:

Oh, and thanks to the weather for not pissing down.

Au revoir, fuckers!

xoxo

Here's a pic of Mark saying hi to his UM buddies:

And now we're back in London, and back at work tomorrow :(

But I do have a 6-month temping gig, so that's ok. I miss Oz though. And Spiff has got me into rugby league; gonna start following the UK league now :headbang: Maybe ;)

I made a special trip into the city on Saturday (took all of ten mins to get there, but anyway) to see the Challenge Cup final between the mighty St Helens, and those woofters from Wigan. We won 32-16, and it was some of the most attractive rugby league I've seen in recent times. Great, flowing style of play.

So, support St Helens, Mark!

The only problem I have with the English game is that there are only four top teams, ie St Helens, Wigan, Bradford and to a lesser extent Leeds. I'd watch it more often but Foxtel only shows one or two games a week and they're always one to two weeks old. And they're on at a stupid time too.

The game is great over there, though, and isn't the NRL Seniors Tour that people in Australia seem to think it is.

I agree with all of the above. It would be better if there were more teams able to really challenge the top ones. I was a bit worried a couple of years ago when the results of meetings between the English and Australian champions (what do they call that game again?) were a tad lopsided. However, the last few have been much more promising. I'd watch St Helens every week if I could.

That's the World Club Challenge or something, Winnie.

I used to go for Bradford because there were so many Kiwis, but I don't like Brian Noble anymore (can't remember why). I don't like St Helens cos they're overachievers, don't like Wigan cos of Andy Farrell (and I can't remember why I don't like him - probably cos he reminds me of Brad Fittler), and... well, I don't have an opinion of Leeds. I like Hull though, so I usually go for them, or whichever team is playing when I turn on the TV which isn't one of the top four.

I'm a man of very discerning tastes.

Hull would be an interesting choice. I saw them (I think it was them) when they were in the lower division (whatever it's called) at Wembley in the match before the 1997 Challenge Cup final between St Helens and Bradford. They were tremendous.

I'm afraid I have to go for London Broncos - all the others are smelly northern teams :p

Plus the Broncos ground is in Chiswick (or thereabouts), about 40 mins from my place :headbang:
