Hellraiser test drive.....

I like the gitsound - any chance sharing some amp settings??
I read that Fredman has the straight mic around 6 dB lower than the angled mic + here´s some eq tips from him:
When recording guitar he uses a Urei LA22 set on ratio 6:1, fast attack, short release + only working @ 150-200hz and down
At mixdown:
adding some bass
backing off some 300hz
adding 1,5khz (wide)
adding some 4khz
+Urei LA22 as groupcompressor ratio 2:1, gainreduction: 1-2 dB

Looking forward to see those ampsettings

One more thing - I just noticed that you said you used the L2 on a clip a while back, and apparently that never sank in until I tried the L2 and didn't get ANYTHING I liked out of it. Would you happen to feel like sharing L2 info, or have you moved past that?

i don't realy like the drumsound though.

Can't please everyone.

Personally, I love how the snare turned out. Oh well, different strokes & all that. Glad you liked the guitar tone, tho! It's something I've been working very hard at for years & it's finally starting to pay off. :)

to add fuel to the TS type pedal debate...I read recently where the Maxon OD808 is actually more cloely related to the Ibanez TS-10, which isn't as heralded as much as the TS-9 and 808 variants. Can't remember where I read it, but component to component, this was the case...

Better too late then never...

Man, that sound is really, really nice! it's clear as crystal, nice defenition to it, and i think that technique really worked out for ya here, eh? :kickass:

nothing to add Oz... sounds great!

i own a blackjack c1 and i love it alot. I didnt set it to my tuning tho, but i trust it can hold low tunes easily!

visually speaking the blackjack is by far the most beautiful guitar ive seen/touched! the black pearl inlays are awesome and depending on the light it seems doesnt have those dots inlays, i loved it cuz i hate dot inlays! i own another guitar loaded with emg81 and the blackjack sounds much better to my ears!!! i loved it, fucking loved it! You can get many different sounds out of it... jb/59 is awesome....

I played one of these for the first time a couple days ago and I almost walked out of the store with it...anyone play this guitar with low tuning, drop B-ish? Does it hold its own with the low tuning?

I absolutely love mine. I play mostly in drop-C with 10-56's. I've fooled around a bit with going down as far as B, but the 56 got a little loose. I'm going to try it with a 58 6th.

I have two clips in B:
