EDEN’S FALL
Harmony Of Lies
Nothingheart Records

We’ve been keeping our eyes on this American metal band for a pretty long time because some of their mp3’s really blew us away. When the release date was finally pronounced we’d only had to wait for the delivery. And the wait was worth it! We were blown away for a second time, nothing more than the amazing mind-blowing guitar riffs were needed. Dan Swanö and nobody less than James Murphy were responsible for the good production. Those who own the solo albums of James Murphy should know he likes a very aggressive overwhelming sound, same counts for “Harmony of lies”. The brutal thrashy songs are perfect and the wall of sound explodes into your ears. A good choice is made with the vocals; pure, energetic and aggressive. John Barr is a good singer and some grunts on the background create even more aggression. This album is very divers and contains heavy riffs like Agent Steel, Exodus or Testament and this makes it even more attractive. Another good point is the fact that the vocal lines and the guitar solo’s are melancholic. This album is written in a pretty dark atmosphere. Eden’s Fall tries to give the American metal scene a serious adrenaline kick and I hope a lot of people will discover this band. They are at least as good as Nevermore, Flotsam & Jetsam and other awesome American bands, no doubt about it. Check www.edensfall.com for my favourite album this month.
