Help! How can I get more distortion out of my amp?

I recently had to replace the socket piece where the guitar chord plugs into my amp and now I can't get hardly any distortion. Tapping and hammer-ons and pull-offs are useless because it doesn't pick anything up. My guitar playing sounds like crap now.

What are some things I can do to get more distortion, or what's the problem here?

hmmm i only had experience with amps giving too much distortion...

I would guess you've got a problem with the soldering job on the jack (socket). I would make sure your solders are fine. If that don't work, take it to a repair shop.

Yeah, sounds like you F'd it up.

Take it to a tech and have it checked over.
