help me decide best anthrax album

SOWN is a great album, I will admit to that. But this mega hype over WCFYA..I just don't get it. Some good tracks but overall, too much filler for me.

That poll only reflects the newbies favorite album. Ask anyone who's 35 and older and who was with them from day 1 and is still with them what they think..then you might really know what the best Anthrax album is. Or hell, just buy em all and determine for yourself.

You'll find most of the "newbies" on this forum are Belladonna fans who loved the band in the 80's, havent bothered their arse with them for the past 13 years and now are back to enjoy the nostalgia act....
Oh and im a bit hungover please excuse my negativity...:)

No... that poll reflects what the people at NFMB think.
I was a fan of Anthrax since the mid-eighties, and to me WCFYA was the album of thier carreer. Just because someones 35 and over doesn't mean they have to prefer '80s metal.
But I do agree with this... "just buy em all and determine for yourself"

By 'newbies' I didn't mean to this forum, I meant somebody that is just now or has recently discovered Anthrax. I gave the Bush years a chance but the music IMO just wasn't as good-and I did buy every Bush album and SOWN, Stomp and WCFYA are still in my CD rack. Vol 8 I sold and the Mass Destruction DVD gets played every few months. I won't lie and say the Belladonna years were without shitty material(most of SOE) but overall it's stronger.
People say "Bush made them heavier, He was in the band 13 years blah blah blah.." and I say BFD. I never gave up on this band, just as I didn't on Sabbath, Priest or any other band who changed vocalists.

You know what, it's all good--**** it. Joey is great, John was great and let's hope there is new material sometime soon because if I hear "I'm the Man" live again in July I'm gonna get sick..

What's with you and this whole age thing?? If I remember correctly there was another post somewhere where you posted the same stupid shit about being 40, and anyone under 35 doesn't know shit. You're older so you're more knowledgeable?? I'm almost 32, been a fan waaaay before Bush came in, my opinion, Bushthrax blows the shit out of Belladonna Thrax. Do I dislike Joey albums?? No, those are the albums and tunes that got me into this band, but they were nothing special in my eyes back with Joey, after John joined the music seemed to really mature, and on stage, Bush is the fucking man. Just like you I stuck with them when they changed from Joey to John, I was pissed at first, but once I saw them on the SOWN tour I understood why the change was made, to change back, doesn't make any sense at all. My brothers who are 36 and 39 are the ones who got me into Anthrax when I was younger and like me they too agree that Bushthrax, live, albums, all around is far more superior than pre SOWN stuff. Fuck, my Dad is 62, he saw Anthrax with us 5 times with Bush, he loved them, my Dad is into metal, it's kinda weird to get in his car and hear Megadeth playing, or have him call me to tell me he wants a Pantera cd for Father's Day, but I wouldn't have it any other way, anyways he went with us to see the reunion show here in Chicago and agreed with us that it sucked balls. So enough with the fucking age thing ok?? Good music is good music, no matter if you're 12 or 60.

To compare Bellthrax and Bushthrax albums it's very hard for me. They're like two sides of a coin that should (NOT) be compared. For that reason I vote for Persistence of Time and Volume 8: The Threat Is Real.

YOU MUST ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR DADDY!

Well you are all wrong. I called upon the deceased spirit of my Nannu (Grandfather) and he told me that the best Anthrax Album is the Virgin Grinder (their 77 release with Julio on vocals). If you want a copy ask ArgHamster ... he has it on Vinyl.

You lose. Next :)
