Help on compressing hardcore vocals to make upfront and aggressive

Hey guys do u have any hints on how to compress hardcore vocals to make them up from and aggressive usually I compress them with a fast attack and medium release any more info than that cheers

I typically compress the hell out of em (depending on mic and preamp) with a nice fast attack and somewhat short release with a waves C1 comp, then I follow up with a limiter, de-esser and some light EQ.

^ This. I would also normalise the clip prior to using a compressor, usually during the editing stage. That way you do not rely on the compressor as much to reduce really drastic level differences
