Everything or almost is in the title. I received my new guitar. Killer tone. BUT, when I began to record the dry signal (connected to the instrument input of my interface, with the minimum trim), I figured out it bloody clipped, especially when the biggest string is involved. As it uses to happen very often when you play metal, I'm searching for a solution.
When I connect the guitar to the line input of the soundcard, the signal is still a bit hot : - 12 dB peak. Pretty high.
Someone told me changing the volume knob and putting a less resistive one could be a solution (500 kOhm replaced by a 250 KOhms). Will it truly work ? Will it change the tone texture ? I tried to search for infos on google but it's a fucking jungle and I got a hangover this morning. I know my sneapster dudes know.
Have a nice sunday.
