Help with acoustic ballad

We recorded an acoustic ballad yesterday and I need some tips on how I can improve my mix. I can't seem to figure out why I'm not happy with it.

What mic did you use to mic the acoustic? the mix sounds good to me

I guess I don't have any mix advice, but I think the song is great.
I'm kind of curious about the mic positions though

when i record acoustic guitars i...

take a d.i. if possible from the axe
set up 2 sm57's one towards the end of the neck and one slightly off axis to the sound hole.

to the d.i. i add the slightest amount of chorus and run it through a room simulator reverb.

comes out nice for me.

thanks, on this particular recording it's just a sm58 a bit angled into the hole on the guitars

What kinda of acoustic did you use?

I think the problem is just using the SM58, I would imagine a Condenser would have worked better. There's a lot of detail in the guitar sound, but not enough body. It might sound better with a bass behind it. Nice song btw.
