Hi guys, first post but I've been lurking here for a while.

I had recently built a low end quad core machine for use with some home recording and when I record guitar on it I have a weird hum noise after FX processing. When I look at the unprocessed wave form I can't see any signal - the hum is present when I have my guitar plugged in with volume up full but without playing anything but it's not present when I have the guitar plugged in but turned down. Here's the same wave, both the clean and processed signals (the recording starts with guitar volume at full then rolls down to zero and continues until the end):

The signal chain is this:

Ibanez RG450 -> ToneStudio UX1 -> Simulanalog Tubescreamer -> Nick Crow 8505 -> OURCabinet Simulator -> Cabenhance

I'm using Reaper as my DAW. I've read this thread:

and I'll be trying some of the suggestions when I have the available cables (plugging into a DI Box then running balanced XLR from there to my interface) and I've already tried swapping my power strip for a surge protector which has made no difference. In the meantime I'd be grateful if anyone could have a look at the wav files above and tell me if I'm on the right track or not - it's driving me nuts.
