I desperatly need help with this.

It was recorded at my college on the ssl's there.

Drums are Stvene slate with real overheads and room mic during the verses. Guitars are marshal and 57, bass is an ampeg with 57 and d6. Vocals are a gemini 2 mic.

I just can't get the middle guitar riff to fit the mix. Every attempt I make it just ruins it.

Also meant Chorus in the title haha

IMO it sounds a bit sloppy and slightly out of tune?

Seems it's a strange place for a riff such as that considering there are vocals going on as well. Have you tried notching out of the main rhythms during the chorus to make room for the lead? Little verb also adds a sense of depth. To me it sounds like its trying to sit right up front and clashing with the vocals.

Thanks a lot for getting back to me man. I know exactly what you mean. The chorus sounds much better without it tbh. It's got reverb but I'll give it more.

I feel like the chorus would benefit more from shakers and claps maybe than a guitar riff but it would be nice to make the riff fit.
