Help with video editing

Yes, I copied some live clips to my HD, and I intend to upload them somewhere, BUT - they're already mpeg's (still low-quality, will take a better computer to copy them at higher resolution) and they still have a size of approximately 60 MB per 5 Mins... they have a bitrate of 160 kbit/sec each video and sound...

Any idea how to make them any smaller (resolution is now somethin about 190 x something...) so they could be uploaded somewhere? I mean, so they could rather be of downloadable size

Hmmm... I have no idea, you should ask this
question in the Opethforum, cause there are
quite few there ripping etc Opeth live shows.
I've seen their work and it's great, so I think
they'll be able to help you )

From the stuff I typed into a web resource, everything says you need some special programs(Firewire, etc.) to edit digital videos.

I also found this webpage which has some tips.

The 2nd paragraph explains how to slightly compress the video, but not by a whole lot.
