In return for him sending me two CD's full of RAAAH RAAAH BLASTBEAT INTESTINAL VAGINAL DISCHARGE DISGORGED THROUGH SPLATTERED RECTAL CAVITIES stuff, I'm sending him two CD's -- one full of IRON FUCKEN MAIDEN and one of some other various trad heavy metal and classic doom I had laying around, that he's a complete wimp if he doesn't like -- I don't pretend to include lots of bands here or anything, I just picked up some personal favourites. Here's the tracklists:

CD 1:

1. "Moonchild" (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son)
2. "Murders in the Rue Morgue" (Killers)
3. "Revelations" (Piece of Mind)
4. "Prowler" (Iron Maiden)
5. "Infinite Dreams" (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son)
6. "Powerslave" (Powerslave)
7. "Stranger in a Strange Land" (Somewhere in Time)
8. "Sanctuary" (Iron Maiden)
9. "Children of the Damned" (The Number of the Beast)
10. "Be Quick or be Dead" (Fear of the Dark)
11. "Killers" (Killers)
12. "Total Eclipse" (Run to the Hills single)
13. "Phantom of the Opera" (Iron Maiden)
14. "The Evil That Men Do" (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son)
15. "Judas be My Guide" (Fear of the Dark)
16. "Only the Good Die Young" (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son)

(Note: I tried to avoid most of the usual "greatest hits" and chose some other personal favourites instead, because let's face it, EVERYONE has heard "Fear of the Dark" and "Run to the Hills" 38949 times already. Also, this comp is 80:00 minutes exactly, do I rule or what)

CD 2:

1. Bruce Dickinson "King in Crimson"
2. Wolf "Genocide"
3. Angel Witch "Baphomet"
4. Mercyful Fate "A Dangerous Meeting"
5. Bruce Dickinson "Trumpets of Jericho"
6. Saint Vitus "Born Too Late"
7. Wolf "I Am the Devil"
8. Angel Witch "Angel of Death"
9. Mercyful Fate "Gypsy"
10. Bruce Dickinson "Accident of Birth"
11. Judas Priest "Diamonds and Rust"
12. Judas Priest "Victim of Changes" (both from Unleashed, obviously)
13. Mercyful Fate "Come to the Sabbath"
14. Candlemass "Solitude"
15. Candlemass "A Sorcerer's Pledge"

So Henrik, if you don't like each and every song on these CD's you're a flaming homo :) Seriously though, give the stuff a chance and let me know what you think, sending it off soon-ish.

Cool. I've already heard the song "Powerslave", it pretty much sucks tbh :p I've also heard Emperor's cover of "Gypsy", it's so-so, perhaps the original is better.

About my sexual preferences - I'm a tad confused. I always thought I was straight, but then Mikke pinned me down as a raging gay. Twas surprising, of course, because I've always enjoyed stimulating my male organ whilst looking at films of nude women doing strange things with other women/men, but I accepted the fact that I had been wrong for quite some time. But now, I see an opportunity in the distance!

Does this mean that there actually is a chance that I'm straight after all? I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Edit: I dislike "Powerslave", so that means I'm gay again. Bummer.

King Diamond's vocals are an acquired taste, but Ihsahn trying to sound like King Diamond is just shitty  musically, the cover is adequate though. Original is far better, as usual.

Yeah but I've heard pretty much every single 'Maiden song ever recorded 6000 times over, so I think I'm in a better position to speak tbh

EDIT: That's not to say "Aces High" isn't awesome, it is, but with time I've grown to prefer some of the more subtle 'Maiden songs more than the INSTANT SUPER HIT CLASSICS.

This is the part where I come in and say something about subjectivity etc.

I promise to give it a fair chance, though, but slow songs seldom tickle my fancy.

*cough* Hehehehe...

CD 1 goes without saying, but CD 2 rules by the way.

"COME COME TO THE SABBATH...DOWN BY THE RUINED BRIDGE...WITCHES AND DEMONS ARE COMING...JUST FOLLOW THE MAGIC CAAAALLLL!!!"

That's not the only one that's been on multiple live albums and/or compilations...enough nitpicking, great choices and order (especially Children of the Damned being between two of the fast ones). And while comparing Powerslave to Aces High is pointless, the former is also one of my top ten Maiden songs ever. One of their signature riffs, unique atmosphere, Bruce at his best, two superb solos, it has everything.
