METALLICA's Lars Ulrich Slams MEGADETH Leader

Contactmusic.com (www.contactmusic.com) has issued the following report:

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has attacked former bandmate Dave Mustaine, accusing him of using the band to promote his own group MEGADETH.

Mustaine recently complained about a recent Metallica documentary he appeared in - to discuss his brief stint in the group - insisting it made him look stupid.

But Ulrich has snapped back, claiming the singer should stop talking about a band he was in for just two years, never made a record with, and left in 1983.

Ulrich says, "I'm a little perplexed by his reaction.

"There's this weird thing that's kind of sad and pathetic that, X percentage of the press around a new Megadeth release simply becomes about Metallica.

"Remember that the guy was in our band for just around a year. He's never played on a Metallica record. It was 22 years ago. It's pretty absurd that it still can be that big a deal."

There last record had such potential if they didn't spend good money making it sound like it was recorded in a dumpster. Maybe this next record will be better, who knows.

I saw that movie too, and although it might have been edited (I think the original interview was an hour or something), Dave said what he wanted to say and they added what they thought was relevant. EITHER WAY, Lars is right. Megadeth is hardly a failure, he is still doing what I wish I was and he should stop complaining. Maybe if dave had not done drugs he would have more money.

Where the fuck have you been for the past, what now, almost 25 years? NO ONE in metallica hardly ever mentioned mustaine in interviews, whereas dave took every chance he could to slam them. First out of anger, then to promote himself. Funny who dave's best whine fests occur right around the time he has something to sell...be it a new cd or concert tickets. God knows lars isn't everyone's favorite person, but too many people are letting blind hate impair their logic here.

Lars FINALLY responds to all of mustaine's whining, and LARS is the one always bringing it up? Explain how that works.

And I don't blame Dave for his actions, he has a better band, always has. I see what he is doing as trying to convert people from the Dark side (metallica) to the good side (megadeth and basically almost anything that is not metallica). I would do it to, man, ya gotta make the bread.

Of course, everytime you can name drop someone with more success, it gets you press. Sad thing is dave knows he can't sell without it. [notice the sales figures for megadeth's last cd and ticket sales for gigantour]

Look, my points are that Lars is a Douche, Megadeth still can write an ok record, and don't even bring up Gigantour, we all know it was awesome. That's not even an argument. I don't know why Lars's Douch-baggedness makes you want to e-fight me all the sudden.
