He's either pandering or even scarier than I thought...

I hate the expression of saying "good christian morals and beliefs" I think it is the biggest cop out, what decent person doesn't follow the same morals in real life even if they are a devout atheist, it's called common moral responsibility. I also feel the statement is very hypocritical, the crusades, Spanish inquisition, hundreds of years of christian persecution...

How can anyone still think the forefathers put "In God we trust" as our motto?
I never ceased to be amazed by what some people still believe. I suppose it's fairly easy to accept the evidence you like, and dismiss that which doesn't gel with your current position. I always make an effort to look at the evidence, and base my position on that, rather than select my evidence, based on what I already believe. However, I suppose that's much easier to do when you don't subscribe to an Iron Age religion.
