I got a favor to ask, it's a long shot but I'll ask anyway...I'll try not to teabag you too much here ...you've already been way cool with us as far as giving us valuable advice on everything from playing to recording to mixing to mastering. That's effing awesome, I'm not gonna hesitate to speak for everyone on this board--save for some arch enemy haters--in saying a big thanks for everything you've done for us. Taking that sort of time for us has been really cool of you.
(balls out of mouth now)...So like we all have heard the magic that you've helped bring out of these musicians you've engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced. One thing that we haven't really had a chance to hear is what the music sounds like before you do your stuff to it. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be hella tight if you were to post some raw samples, so we can do before/after A/B-ing, kinda like those with the fat chicks in the weight loss commercials. The only real example that we have--at least that I can recall--is the Enemies of Reality remix.
I don't know if there are copyright conflicts that you can't get around, but I'd definitely find a lot of use in hearing anything from a clip of an unmastered final mixdown to an uncompressed kick drum, just to hear what you try to get out of the instruments before any of your tricks. Anyway, I figure you've probably considered doing this sort of thing before, but it can't hurt to ask. Tight.
