There was this kid in Jr. High named Brian Jones who used to yell at our janitor Mr. Bohle, who was an older gentleman that grunted a lot. Mr. Bohle had those Drew Carey glasses and drove an old rusted out brown truck with a camper. He seemed to hate kids, and avoided as much contact with them as he could. But Brian loved to torment the poor old guy. He'd see him in the halls and yell "HEY BOHLE!!", to which Mr. Bohle would reply with only a grunt and a sneer. Brian would yell something stupid about Bohle's truck, Bohle would threaten Brian's livelihood, Brian would laugh and yell "SEE YA BOHLE!!"

Brian Jones and I also shared one of those lab tables in our 8th grade Science class with Mr. Dunehew. We got separated for being "rambunctious" - which basically meant we cracked each other up all day and sometime would get in goofball fights and knock over tables and shit. Mr. Dunehew's thing in his science class was that every year he took the class across the street from the school to the baseball fields to hunt for grasshoppers. We'd take brown paper bags and throw grasshoppers in them, then go back to the classroom and fry them up in vegetable oil and eat 'em. Ever had a fried grasshopper? With salt, they basically taste like french fries. And me without my ketchup.

Ahh, good times.

Mr. Dunehew opened a donut shop my sophomore year of high school. My family knew his for a long time, so I got my first job through him. Every Saturday and Sunday morning I'd go to work at 3:00am to make the donuts. Eventually I saved up enough money for my first electric guitar- a black Fender Squier Strat. Before that, all I had was an acoustic my Dad paid $6 for at an auction- I learned a lot on that guitar, though.
