There's loads of reasons, really. You have to allow ample time for advertising to make an impact, you have to allow time for the product to ship, you have labels/distros who try to space out their releases accordingly so that they're not flooding the market with too much product or similar product at the same time, so on and so on......there's alot that goes on behind the scenes that's involved with the manufacturing/shipping/distributing/marketing and other details that are the reason why releases are put out at a certain time and there's a certain amount of wait involved. I mean for example, they usually like to have some reviews in the magazines and online for a while before the cd hits the street, in order to build up interest and anticipation for the product. We only just received our copies of the cd a bit over a week ago, so the idea that we got the cds barely a month before the official release isn't really that outlandish.
I definitely don't think any of it has to do with "torturing" people to have to wait! It's just that there's so much more involved than just "Band records cd, label presses it, send it to stores, put it on the shelves to sell". There's alot of business stuff that has to be done in between all of those stages that takes time.
I think people have just gotten so damned used to the immediacy of things today with the internet and the general speediness with which you can get your hands on things today, it feels like an eternity to some people when they're like "oh man you mean I gotta wait three more weeks???" Haha.
The bottom line is......will it be worth the wait once you finally get it? We hope the answer is yes
i understand what you're saying. nor was i complaining, i was just curious. my anger really came from the thought that it could be some corperate dick head who decides all of this without little to any logic beind it: like most corperate dick heads do. lol
