Hi, I'm new here. my name is Cenk, I'm a 23 year old guy from Southampton, UK. I was bored so thought I'd come and take a look at one of my favourite bands websites and here I am.
I first heard Katatonia in 96-97 I think, a friend played some of their old black/death metal sort of stuff and I didnt like. but later on in 98 or 99 I think I heard some stuff from Discourages Ones and then I heard Tonight's Decision which I liked. though I think the best one is LFDGD, one of the best albums of last year along with the Tool, Anathema, SOAD and Opeth albums.
Other than Katatonia I like a lot of different stuff, I'm sort of a music geek and in one day I can get through an extremely diverse collection of music, like today I've been listening to Nick Drake, Carcass, Miles Davis, Depeche Mode and Rachmaninov.
I have 2 bands myself, I play the guitar in a gothic metal band called RazorBladeKisses, sort of like a mix of Theatre of Tragedy(because of our 2 female lead singers and my backing death metal growls), My Dying Bride(because of my guitar style&our violinist) and some industrial goth(because of our main songwriter/programer/keyboardist). My other band is called Matem(Turkish for mourning), we're a bit like Anathema&Katatonia, we started off playing raw black/doom metal but now we're sort of alternative emotional/depressive rock.
So anyway. There you go. C ya
