I disagree. the new guitar is way cooler and unique looking, especially since i'm a fan of maple necks. That black one just looks like a cheapo 7 string.
I like the looks of the new one (I may even get one) but I think it would have
been a lot cooler if it was black, or solid white with a black binding on the body![]()
I don't know about Ash with 707's? I have the current Hellraiser 7 and even with a Mahogany body and neck it's a pretty bright guitar.
gonna have to play one![]()
R1. An ash body? I've talked to some boys that known a thing about gee-tars and all say an ash is a weaker/cheaper wood.

Ash - especially light or "swamp" ash - is an extremely desirable wood for tone, as it's very resonant. It's not as expensive as mahogany or maple, and has a slightly different tone, but the ash Strats and Teles from the '50s and '60s are highly prized for their tone, and most major builders (except Jackson, for some reason) make some nice ash instrument. (Including Anderson and PRS). I'm actually glad there's an ash 7 string out there now, and the maple board just adds to it...
